The Easel Chair draws its inspiration from the adjustable and interchangeable features of easels allowing the user to switch and adjust the “canvases” (seat cushions) at their discretion. This chair derives a powerful statement by enshrining anyone who sits on it as “a work of art.”
The Easel Chair is part of a collection of three case studies made through the Blendex ideation tool. This process consists of blending together features of products of different typologies to create new interpretations of the relationship between form and function. The systematic combination tool is an opportunity to appreciate everyday objects and see them as new.
